I did something awesome the other day.
On the back of these little Linksys WRT54GL units are 5 net ports. One's for the ISP are for fun. Huck some gear into the ports and par-tay together.
But they don't all need to be part of the same net. So me and NB split off all four ports into 4 separate networks, which themselves don't ever see each other, almost.
The last one? It holds a scanner and printer, which is shared by everyone. It's like it's three nets with a one-way connection in to the Common Area, and to the net.
Oh. And the Wifi is glued to only one net, but it could be a distinct, separate 5th, like I already do here.
There's a reason why the Linksys WRT54GL is still a $75 router, new, despite the fact it's only 10/100 Mb on the ports.
There's another post. Bam!
