Net Ghetto

I've mentioned bizarre ghetto ideas like this for a while, and I think sometimes people aren't sure I really am that cheap a bastard or that low-class to pull it off.

I assure you; I'm cheap.  I'm low-class.

So here's an idea I bring out every now and then, and it surprises people at times.  It's simple:  go buy some cheap wal*mart school supplies, or from whatever cheap*mart you have, and focus on the $3 loose-leaf paper binders.  Take them home, rip off the covers, carefully drill out the rivets (or pop them if you have better tools) and screw in the spines as really great cable management gear.  It works, and it's cheap, and it's easy to do.

Did I mention it works really well, usually?

Don't screw them in like circus-gorilla tight, though, or even more than barely-all-the-way, as you'll need some space to work the mechanism, and the cheap way they're done won't work if there's no room for play.  You'll figure it out on your first one, so be ready to huck one if you go all marine-corps hard on this thing too early.

Oh.  Think of it for your stereo kit or TV set, as these screw in just as easily into the beaver-chow framework holding up your TV as it does into the side of this Anton roll-away.

Mmmm.  Ti-dy.
